Would you like to be a part of Tamworth Athletic Club? We're always recruiting, and we would like to here from you. We want dedicated people to become part of one of the Midlands biggest athletic clubs, and help you develop your athletic career whether you are a Junior or a Senior athlete.

We offer the following Athletic activities:

Sprints/Hurdles Middle Distance
Endurance Long Jump
High Jump Pole Vault

Multi-Events Cross Country
Hill and Fell Running Road Running
Race Walking Sportshall Athletics
Marathon Triathlon

We have big plans for a brand new indoor training facility, funds are still being raised to make it happen.

Prospective athletes are invited to attend one of our Induction sessions:

Please come to the club and meet us in the clubhouse at the following times:

Tuesdays 7pm
Thursdays 7pm

It may be a good idea to e-mail the club secratary (use the contact us page) to enquire about the availability of induction sessions. Volunteers run the sessions and so may take a hard earned break at certain times of the year.

The TAC Induction Officers are Ray Lloyd (for the juniors) and Rob James (for the seniors)

For reasons of health and safety it is very important that athletes new to Tamworth Athletic Club attend an Induction session with Ray, the Induction Officer before joining the club. All juniors attending an induction session MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

How Much Does It Cost To Be a Member?

Junior members - Annual Membership £25
Senior members - Annual Membership £35
Families -
£70 + £3 per child
2nd Claim membership £10

  • Each new athlete is entitled to 2 free training sessions.
  • Membership Fees are due on April 1st.

  • Coaching by qualified coaches with support from experienced coaching assistants
  • Midland Counties Athletic Annotation Number - a legal requirement for entry to events
  • Opportunity to compete in various leagues according to age group
  • Access to subsidised coach fares to athletic events
  • Training facilities - including outside track and indoor weights equipment ; function room which acts as indoor stretching area - open all year round
  • Club house facilities - including changing rooms, showers, TV, function room , Bar and Tuck Shop - available all year round
