| Tamworth Carnival - Request from Tamworth Lions |
Thursday, June 10 2004 |
The Tamworth Lions have asked for our help at the annual Tamworth Carnival. Could you run an activity such as the 'Agility Challenge' or an athletic demonstration on behalf of Tamworth AC to take place in the Castle Grounds between 2.30 and 3.30pm on Saturday 19 June? It would require 2 adults and 2 or more young athletes to run the 'Agility Challenge'(similar to a Sporthall activity). If you could help out please get in touch with Chris Graves, Club Secretary, at tamworthac.aol.com Our contact at the Tamworth Lions is Alan Arnold.

| Urgent - UK:Athletics Competition Check on Equipment at Tamworth AC |
Thursday, June 10 2004 |
There will be a UK:Athletics competition check on all the club's equipment on Wednesday 16 June starting at 1.45pm.
All the club's equipment has been checked by outside assessors within the last two weeks . However this is an extremely important check and our ability to hold competitions at the stadium will rely on the outcome.
If the check doesn't take place we will not be able to hold any more competitions this season!!!
Please can one or two club members help get out all the equipment for the inspection and put most of it away when the check has been completed? There is a Midland Open Meeting at the stadium in the evening, so some equipment can be left out. Equipment will include high jump, long jump, water jump etc as well as snaller items.
If you can spare an afternoon please contact John/Chris Graves or Kevin Wood. REMEMBER If the check doesn't take place we will not be able to hold any more competitions this season!!!

| Primary School Sports at Tamworth Stadium |
Thursday, June 10 2004 |
Each year Tamworth AC hosts three days of Primary Schools Sports at the Marlborough Way Stadium and club members come along to help with the tuck shop and to provide and move some equipment. It's not a difficult job. This year we need one or two more people to join Pat and Chris(who will be in the tuck shop) on standby to cover for any eventuality!
The dates are Monday 14 June, Tuesday 15 June and Wednesday 16 June and each meeting is held after school between 3 and 5pm. Every year many young athletes decide to try our club out following their experiences at the Primary Sports and many have gone on to become our very best athletes. If you can help please see/phone or email John and Chris Graves, Pat Wileman or Kevin Wood.

Unfortunately the photographer has been called away to another event on that night and a new date will have to be arranged. The new date will be posted on this News section of the website as soon as it is confirmed. The photos will be used in the Tamworth Herald and Leader papers and copies are usually provided to the club for use in the Newsletter.
Please let everyone know about the date change and why not take the opportunity to polish your spikes, spruce up your kit and even wash your club vest!!
