We are aware of the huge demand for the results of the Tamworth Games, please be assured that we are working as quickly as possible to bring them to you. A considerable amount of processing goes into making the recorded results into a user friendly format, that is happening at the moment.

The Tamworth Games Friday, August 27 2004
Over 700 athletes will converge on Tamworth Stadium this Monday for the Annual Bank Holiday Open Meeting.
Top athletes from all over the Midlands will compete at the meeting, which will take place between 10am-6pm.
Special guests will include the Mayor and Mayoress of Tamworth,International Race Walker Andy Penn, The President of Tamworth Rotary Club, Rob Tanner Sports Editor at the Tamworth Herald, Geoff Beales of Sporting Club Tamworth,Catherine Pendlebury Athletic Development Officer for Staffordshire, Martin Summers from TAC's own Website and Dave Rudman from Tamworth Borough Council
Spectators are welcome.Programmes will be on sale at the gate.

Women's Team Clinch the Midlands Title Friday, August 27 2004
The Tamworth Athletic Club Ladies team pulled out all the stops in their final Midland Women's League fixture to win their Division at Tipton.
The squad became the third team from the club to take a league title this season, with half of the athletes recording personal bests. For full report go to Reports page.

Mark Culshaw in Action Friday, August 27 2004
Tamworth AC race walker Mark Culshaw has been helping to organise the London Victoria Park 10km run. Culshaw finished the race in 56:52mins.

Spot The Shot Winner Wednesday, August 25 2004
The Spot the Shot competition organised by club member Mick Challis was won by Women's team manager Ken Langowski.
All proceeds are going to the fund raising for the new Tamworth AC Indoor Track and Training Facility to be built at the Marlborough Way Stadium.

Level 2 Coaching Course-Wolverhampton Wednesday, August 25 2004
Richard Welch, Sports Development Officer from Wolverhampton Council is running a Level 2 Coaching Course on 11 / 12 September for anyone who has completed their Level 1 course and follow up work with a club.There are a few places left.

Three TAC Champions At The AAA's Championships Monday, August 23 2004
Juan De Leon Padmore struck gold in the long jump at the AAAs Championships last weekend.Juan produced a personal best jump of 6.04m to qualify for the long jump final.
And he then produced no less than four personal bests in the final itself, with his last jump of 6.39m making him the champion.
He was one of six Tamworth athletes who took part in the championships, which included the top athletes from England, Scotland, Ireland, Northern Ireland and Wales.Full report on the reports page.

Amy Frith in Grand Prix Final Monday, August 23 2004
TAMWORTH AC's Amy Frith will line up in the National Junior League Grand Prix Final after finishing in overall fourth place in league meetings held throughout the country during the season.
Amy will be trying to emulate another Tamworth athlete, Laura Langowski, who won the event last year.

Wilkins Win Helps Town To Third Spot Monday, August 23 2004
Tamworth Ac ended their Midland League season by clinching third place in their division in the final fixture of the season.
Nick Wilkins won his 400m in 57.5secs and took second place in the 200m in 25.5secs and fourth in the 100m in 13.3secs. Full details on Reports page.

Tamworth AC Men Clinch Promotion Saturday, August 14 2004
Second place in this final Midland Men's League match of the season was enough to give Tamworth AC the Championship and promotion to the top Midland Division for next season.
Top performance of the day went to youngster Neil Rudd, who was making his debut for the first team. He recorded 51.1secs in the 400m as he finished in second place.

Beesley Is Number One Saturday, August 14 2004
Congratulations to Tamworth AC athlete Megan Beesley who is officially the number one pentathlete in England at the under-15 level.
Beesley retained her Midland Counties title at the AAA National Combined Events and the Midland Counties Championships at the Alexander Stadium.
And at the same meeting, she leapt from fourth to second in the UK rankings - finishing just behind Irish athlete Kayln Sheehan.
In the long jump, Beesley recorded a personal best and new club record of 5.28m. She completed the 75m hurdles in 12.39secs and threw the shot 8.07m.
She recorded a personal best of 1.53m in the high jump and was second in her heat of the 800m, with another best of 2.26mins.
Her overall total points was 3,069 which was her highest ever score.

Tamworth Games - Guest Presenters Saturday, August 14 2004
Each year gold, silver and bronze medals are awarded to the first three in each event and winners also receive a commemorative t-shirt all of which are presented to athletes by guest presenters who are sponsors and supporters of Tamworth AC.
Guest presenters this year will include the Mayor Clr Ken Gant and Mayoress Maureen Gant of Tamworth, International Race Walker Andy Penn, Geoff Beales from Sporting Club Tamworth and representatives from Tamworth Rotary Club.
This list will be updated as more guests come on board.

Important Date Changes for 'Reception' Squad ONLY Saturday, August 14 2004
The starter ‘Reception’ Squad will be closing for 2 weeks for the coaches to take their holidays. There will be no Thursday night sessions from 5.30-6.30pm on Thursday 19 August and Thursday 26 August.
The squad will recommence on Thursday 2 September.

Senior Inter Regional Match-Solihull Wednesday, August 11 2004
In the Senior Inter Regional match at Solihull, Tamworth AC's Jenna Lander, representing the Midlands against the North of England and the South of England in the senior women's hammer, finished in sixth place with a throw of 35.90m
Laura Langowski also competed in the match as a guest and finished in sixth place in the 400m in 57.14secs.

The British League Wednesday, August 11 2004
Competing for their second claim club Coventry Godiva in the latest British League match, Tamworth AC's Laura Langowski clocked 57.1secs for fourth place in the 400m and was also in the Coventry 4x400m relay team.
Jenna Lander took fifth place in the hammer in the same meeting with a throw of 39.02m.
Laura has now been selected to represent the Midlands in the Inter Regional under-23 match this weekend.
(Competing for Coventry as a second claim club allows Laura and Jenna to keep TAC as their first claim club but gives them further opportunities for competition with athletes competing in the National League, the League which TAC intends to be part of in the future.)

Depleted Squad Still Produces The Goods In The Young Athletes League Wednesday, August 11 2004
With a team decimated through holidays and injuries, Tamworth were reduced to fourth place in the final Young Athletes League match of the season on home soil, but produced some fine individual performances with 20 winners and 35 personal bests.

Town Girls Secure Another League Title In The NJL Wednesday, August 11 2004
Tamworth Athletic Club picked up their first league title of the season when they won the Trent Division Ladies match of the National Junior League at Rugby.
The win gave the Tamworth team the title with an unbeaten record and a place in the Northern Premier Division play-offs next month. Go to results/reports page for full results.

Tamworth Herald Sporting Decathlon -100m at TAC Wednesday, August 11 2004
Read the report that appeared in the Herald following the visit of Rob Tanner and Michael Beardmore to Tamworth AC.
Amy Frith was in charge of 'warming up' and the two Herald athletes took part in a 100m cheered on by all at the club. Certificates were presented at the finish. Got to results / reports for full article which, incidentally, is complimentary to TAC.

Annual Tamworth Games On August Bank Holiday Monday Wednesday, August 4 2004
The Tamworth Games is getting closer so make sure your entry forms are with Mick Challis as soon as possible.
On the day the following will be available:-
Clubhouse - Registration, Refreshments, Bar,Raffle,Toilets, First Aid/St Johns, Sports Masseuse.
Verandah - Tombola ,Book Sale, Sports Kit, Sweatshop.
Stadium - Food Van, Ice Cream Van, Sports Masseuse.
The Sports Masseuse, all students, will be provided by Sutton Coldfield College. There will be no charge, but donations to Tamworth AC's new Indoor Facility Appeal will be most welcome.
