| Tamworth athletes produced some fine performances as the club claimed fifth place in the first meeting of the National Junior League Premier Division season at Derby.
Nathan Woodward, Meghan Beesley, Alex Berrow and Brett Byrd all set new club records for their events.
Woodward won the 400m hurdles in a fine early season time of 53.2secs and took second place in the 100m hurdles in a personal best 15.1secs.
Beesley won the 200m in 24.9secs and took sixth place in the shot with 8.55m.
Berrow finished in third place in the hammer with a fine throw of 53.85m, a personal best, and also had a discus throw of more than 30m and 11.33m in the shot.
Another athlete producing a top performance in the throws was Byrd, who took second place in the javelin with a distance of 53.02m.
Tom Burton won his 400m hurdles in 58.6secs, took second place in his 110m hurdles in a personal best 15.5secs and also equalled his personal best in the high jump with a clearance of 1.70m for fifth place.
Tom Adams also produced a personal best in the 3,000m when he clocked 8:59.3mins for second place.
Newcomer Emily Field-Lucas made her debut in the league with a good second place in 11:56.6mins in her 3,000m while Elyse Jinks set a personal best of 12:16.8mins for another second place in the same event.
Danielle Marczak claimed a personal best equalling time of 13.5secs for sixth place in the 100m.
Steve Harris gained an excellent first place in his 800m in a personal best time of 2:4.5mins while Nick Crawford won his triple jump with a distance of 10.75m, took sixth place in the long jump with 5.39m and equalled his personal best in the 100m with a time of 12.0secs.
Ben Horsley finished in fifth place in his 100m in a personal best 11.8secs, sixth in the triple jump with a leap of 11.18m and seventh in the 200m in 24.7secs.
Claire Hedderman set apersonal best for the 1,500m for sixth place in 6:11.1mins and Hannah Alcock also took sixth place in the hammer with a personal best 16.82m and eighth in the discus with a throw of 14.03m.
Sam Micklewright finished in fourth place in the 3,000m in a personal best 10:25.6mins and Marcus Yoxall was fifth in the hammer with a personal best throw of 24.02m, gained another personal best in the shot with 7.60m and recorded a throw of 17.40m in the discus.
Hollie Owen took fourth place in the 400m in 61.8secs, fifth in the 200m in 28.0secs and sixth in the hammer in her first competition in this event with a throw of 18.34m.
Megan Jacobs finished in fourth place in the 1,500m steeplechase in a time of 6:7.0mins and Amy Williams put up a good performance in her first time at this event to also gain a fourth place in 7:4.2mins.
Sarah Williams took fourth place in the pole vault with a clearance of 2.60m, sixth in the long jump with a distance of 4.40m and clocked 96.1secs for the 400m hurdles.
Faye McCabe took fourth place in the shot with 7.67m, sixth in the 400m hurdles in 95.6secs and seventh in the javelin with a throw of 23.29m.
Claire Perry finished in fourth place in her javelin event with a throw of 22.77m.
Simon King picked up a couple of good fourth places in the 800m in a time of 2:7.6mins and also in the 1,500m.
Another athlete making his debut in this league was Ethan Jones with fourth place in the long jump with a leap of 5.18m and sixth in the 400m in 56.7secs. Chris Smith took fourth place in the javelin with a throw of 34.18m and Georgia Lorraine fifth in the 400m in a time of 66.2secs.
Hannah Sargeant stepped up an age group to take fifth place in the long jump, with a leap of 3.97m and seventh in the high jump with a clearance of 1.35m. Dan Cash took fifth place in the 400m in a time of 52.8secs and also clocked 23.8secs in the 200m.
Jade Lapla took sixth place in the 800m in 2:37.8mins and Kathy Snowden sixth in her 800m in 2:42.1mins and seventh in the 1,500m in 5:51.8mins.
Alyson Bird took sixth place in the discus with 9.66m and Laura Taylor seventh in a hot 100m in the useful time of 13.4secs.
Rose Williams and Jenny Evans took part in their first ever triple jump competition with Williams leaping 8.76m and Evans 8.36m.
