| Tamworth Athletic Club's Midland Men's League A team moved a step nearer to promotion to Midland League Division One when they won their latest match at Tamworth last weekend.
The win leaves Tamworth a clear three points ahead at the top of the league table with just one fixture remaining next month.
The top performances of the day were recorded by jumper Adam Smith.
He won the triple jump with a personal best and club record leap of 13.69m as well as the long jump with a personal best of 6.42m.
He also took second place in the high jump when he equalled his personal best clearance of 1.75m.
Ricky Hallam won his pole vault with a vault of 3.60m and made it a double by winning his 110m hurdles in 20secs.
Greg Richards won his 200m race in 23.1secs and took fifth place in his 100m in 11.5secs.
Howard Bush took first place in the 2,000m steeplechase in 7:10.1mins and fourth in the 5,000m with a time of 17:45.7mins.
Nathan Woodward came through his fitness test for the European Junior Championships in Holland when he won the 400m in 49.2secs.
Daniel Cash (pictured left) won his 400m in 50.9secs and Neil Rudd took first place in the 400m hurdles in 1:03.5mins.
Chris Mowbey had a busy afternoon winning his high jump with a clearance of 1.63m, taking seventh place in the long jump with a jump of 5.08m, seventh in the 200m in 23.8secs and eighth in the 100m in 11.6secs.
Also competing in four events was Gavin Showell.
He took second place in the pole vault with a vault of 3.90m and third in the hammer with a throw of 23.08m.
He was also fourth in the shot with 9.29m and sixth place in the discus with a throw of 24.66m.
Tamworth also picked up good points in the throwing events with Matty Bartlett finishing second in his javelin with a throw of 36.72m and seventh in the shot with 9.76m.
David Levett threw 32.32m in the hammer for a personal best and third place.
He also picked up another third place in the discus with a throw of 22.07m.
Tom Hardman took third place in the javelin with a personal best throw of 46.88m.
Paul Tasker picked up good points for the team with second place in the 1,500m in 4:30.8mins and fourth in the 800m in 2:06.6mins as did Matty James, Martin Naunton, Tom Adams and John Jenkins.
James took third place in the triple jump with a jump of 11.17m, fourth in the 400m hurdles in a time of 1:02.9mins and seventh in the 110m hurdles in 25.2secs.
Naunton picked up a couple of fourth places with 4:29.4mins in the 1,500m and 6:55.8mins in the 2,000m steeplechase.
Adams made a welcome return from injury with sixth place in the 5,000m in 16:59.1mins and Jenkins took seventh in the 800m in 2:6.1mins. Tamworth AC's B team finished fourth in their latest Midland Men's League Division Four match at Burton.
The result means they retained their middle of the table overall position with one match remaining.
Personal bests were recorded by Marcus Yoxall (hammer), Dave Williams (2,000m steeplechase and 110m hurdles), Mike Pierpoint (pole vault) and Tom Adams (100m and 200m).
Yoxall won his hammer with a throw of 26.14m, took fourth place in the discus with a throw of 23.88m and fifth in the shot with 6.81m.
Dave Williams picked up good points for the team when he competed in five events.
He took third place in the pole vault with 2.40m, fifth in the 2,000m steeplechase in a time of 7:25.2mins, sixth in the 110m hurdles in 21.7secs, sixth in the 400m hurdles in 65.7secs and seventh in the high jump with a clearance of 1.40m.
Pierpoint finished third in the pole vault with a clearance of 3.20m and Adams was fifth in the 100m in a time of 12.3secs as well as seventh in the 200m in 24.7secs.
Brett Byrd warmed up for next week's English schools by winning the javelin with a throw of 57.72m while Ashley Smethan took fourth place in the hammer with a throw of 26.71m.
John Culshaw was second in the javelin with a throw of 38.31m, third in the shot with 9.46m and fifth in the discus with a throw of 23.88m.
Ethan Jones took third place in the 400m hurdles in 67.9secs and fifth in the long jump with a distance of 5.45m.
Steve Harris finished in third place in the 2,000m steeplechase in 7:28.1mins and seventh in the 800m in 2:9.7mins.
Chris Boden took fourth place in the 800m in 2:11.7mins, fifth in the 400m in 56.0secs and sixth in the long jump with a distance of 4.26m.
Ben Storey took fourth place in the triple jump with a leap of 11.39m, fifth in the 100m with a time of 12.5secs and seventh in the high jump with aclearance of 1.50m.
Sean Gynane took second place in the triple jump with a leap of 11.18m, sixth in the 5,000m in 19:26.0mins and seventh in the 200m in a time of 26.3secs.
Nick Wilkins took fourth place in the 400m in 56.3secs and Matty Wood fifth in the 1,500m in 4:44.6mins.
Matt Hargreaves finished in fifth place in his 1,500m in a time of 4:30.4mins and Nigel Fisher completed a good all round team performance by taking sixth place in the 5,000m in 19:35.5mins.

| Tamworth Ac finished in sixth place overall in the latest National Junior League fixture at Cardiff on Sunday.
Personal best went to Simon King (2,000m steeplechase, 800m and long jump), Amy Williams (1,500m steeplechase), Tom Burton (400m), Steve Harris (2,000m steeplechase), Chris Boden (400m hurdles), Hannah Sargeant (400m hurdles), Hannah Alcock (hammer) and Marcus Yoxall (shot).
King won the 2,000m steeplechase in 6:31.8mins, broke two minutes for the first time when he clocked 1:59.8mins in the 800m for third place and jumped 4.19m for seventh place in the long jump.
Williams picked up a good second place, in a time of 6:36.7mins, in the women's 1,500m steeplechase.
Burton won the 400m hurdles in 55.4secs, took sixth place in the 400m in 51.0secs and seventh in the high jump with a clearance of 1.55m.
Harris took second place in the 2,000m steeplechase in 7:17.9mins, third in the 800m in 2:8.5mins, and eighth in the long jump with a jump of 4.34m.
Boden finished in third place in the 400m hurdles in 65.8secs and seventh in the 400m in 54.9secs.
Sargeant jumped 1.40m in the high jump for second place and took fifth place in the 400m hurdles in 74.9secs.
Alcock took sixth place in the hammer with a throw of 17.72m and the same position in the discus with 14.87m.
Yoxall won his hammer with a throw of 22.61m, took fifth place in the discus with a throw of 19.82m and seventh in the shot with 7.41m.
Meghan Beesley recorded her usual top points for the club when she gained a sprint double by winning the 100m in 12.1secs and the 200m by winning in 24.8secs.
Beesley also took fifth place in the shot with 7.59m.
Hollie Owen took second place in the 400m in 59.6secs, another second place in the 200m in 27.2secs and fifth in the hammer with a throw of 15.68m.
Chris Smith finished in fourth place in the javelin with a throw of 32.27m and sixth in the discus with a throw of 21.77m.
Ashley Smethan took fourth place in the hammer with 28.71m and fifth in the shot with 6.13m.
Elyse Jinks finished in third place in her 3,000m in 12:55.2mins and Matty Wood was seventh in the 3,000m men's in 10:12.5mins and eighth in the 1,500m in 4:59.3mins.
Georgia Lorraine took fifth place in the 400m in 65.8secs and Megan Jacobs was fourth in the 1,500m steeplechase in 6:10.8mins.
Dan Cash was fifth in the 200m in 23.5secs, sixth in the high jump with a 1.55m clearance and seventh in the 100m in 11.8secs.
Laura Taylor took fifth place in the high jump with a leap of 1.40m and Charlotte McDonough was fifth in the triple jump with a jump of 9.56m and sixth in the long jump with a distance of 4.42m.
Claire Perry was fourth in the javelin with a throw of 24.49m, her best of the season and fifth in the shot with 6.70m.
Ben Horsley finished in sixth place in the triple jump with a leap of 10.94m, seventh in the 200m in 24.6secs and eighth in the 100m in 12.3secs.
Liam finished in sixth place in the javelin with a throw of 32.41m and Keeley Thorne seventh in the 800m in 2:36.1mins.
Kathy Snowden was third in her 800m in 2:38.8mins, and eight in the 1,500m in 5:43.6mins.
Sarah Williams was fourth in the pole vault with a vault of 2.80m and eighth in the long jump with a distance of 4.47m.
Emily Field-Lucas finished fifth in the 3,000m in 12:22.6mins, sixth in the 1,500m in 5:46.0mins and eighth in the discus with a throw of 14.88m.
Liz Checkley made a welcome return to competition with third place in the pole vault with a clearance of 1.80m and sixth in the javelin with a throw of 12.13m.
Shaun Gynane made his debut in this league with two sixth places, recording a time of 10:20.0mins in the 3,000m and 5:21.9mins to pick up good points for the team.
